This charming detached cottage has an idyllic situation right on the shores of Loch Fyne, little over an hour's drive of Glasgow, yet amid some of Scotland's loveliest scenery.
In its own neat garden (furniture, barbecue), with breathtaking views over the loch in all its moods, the house has been most carefully furnished and equipped to the highest standards, with an open fire in the cosy sitting room, ideal for relaxing with evening drinks after a day on the water or in the surrounding hills. The village of Strachur, (3m) has a shop, cafe, and the famous Creggans Inn.
There is certainly no lack of things to do and places to see here. Inveraray (15m) boasts its Castle and Jail, with the NT Gardens at Crarae just a few miles further. In the other direction is Dunoon (21m) with the Benmore Botanic Gardens and romantic Puck's Glen on the way. Oban, the hopping- off point for many islands, is just 55 miles away. Closer to the cottage, you can climb The Cobbler, admire the 'Arrochar Alps' or visit the world famous Oyster Bar at the head of the loch. In such a beautiful spot, however, you may be loathe to leave the comfort and lovely location of the Shieling itself.
Bed linen, towels, gas CH and electricity are all included. Sorry, no pets or smoking in the cottage. Wi-fi available, subject to provider.
