Two cottages, sleeping 5 and 4

The Roro Estate is situated in lovely Glen Lyon, Scotland's longest glen, 18 miles west of Aberfeldy (all facilities, leisure centre) in Highland Perthshire. This is a lovely landscape of towering mountains, birchwoods, rushing streams, abundant wildlife, (buzzards, ptarmigan, grouse, deer to name but a few), and above all, peace and quiet. Children will revel in the freedom these cottages offer, far from roads and passing traffic, with open space all around. There are sheep too, so dogs should be kept under control.

There is, however plenty to do in the area. There are water sports to be had on Loch Tay (15m) and Loch Earn (20m) or go white water rafting on the Tay. For walkers and climbers there are a number of Munros in the immediate area. Fishing for trout and salmon and stalking in season can also be arranged by the Estate. Play golf at Pitlochry or Aberfeldy, or even Gleneagles itself.

Electric heating, bed linen and towels are all included at both cottages. Pets are welcome by arrangement.

East Cottage (sleeps 5)

East Cottage is a whitewashed semi-detached cottage, simply but most comfortably furnished and standing in its own grass garden at the end of a quiet estate road. The situation is quite heavenly for adults and children alike - no traffic, the hillside to the front begging to be climbed or played over, and the loch in the glen behind. Just a few yards down the track there is also a mountain stream which cascades over a rocky gully. It really is the prefect spot for a get-away-from-it-all holiday.

East Cottage:

Balmenoch Cottage (sleeps 4)

Balmenoch Cottage is a real picture postcard Highland cottage, which has now been completely refurbished to provide stylish, cosy and comfortable accommodation, efficiently heated by an open fire and by electricity. It stands completely alone in a large rough grass garden, the nearest neighbour being the Big House, over the wall and through the trees.

• Open plan sitting room/dining room/kitchen with open fire, TV/DVD, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, fridge, freezer etc.
• Double bedroom with en suite bathroom
