East Shore Cottage

East Shore Cottage
St Monans

Sleeping 2

East Shore cottage stands right on the shore in the colourful little fishing village of St Monans, next door to Sea Breeze which has long been one of our most sought-after properties, booked solid all year. East Shore is practically its mirror image and occupies the same desirable position.

The cottage is warm and snug with new double glazing and gas central heating. As is common in these old fishermen's cottages the living space is on three levels linked by fairly steep stairs (fit people in those days!). The ground floor houses the large, modern and well-fitted kitchen-diner. On the first floor there is a cosy sitting room with flame effect gas fire and a stylish bathroom while on the top floor there is a double bedroom with ziplink king size bed. All the front windows have uninterrupted, spectacular sea views – if you're lucky you may even glimpse seals and dolphins swimming past the door.

With its houses grouped around the little harbour St Monans is one of the quietest and most attractive of the East Neuk villages. There is a well-known seafood restaurant a few minutes walk from the cottage as well as shops and pubs. You can enjoy lovely walks along the coast and this area probably has more good golf courses than anywhere else in Scotland (including St Andrews itself which is just 13 miles away). St Andrews, however, is famous not only for its celebrated golf courses but also for its own interesting history and for its wide expanse of wonderful sandy beach where children and dogs will think they are in paradise. At Elie, you can hire bikes or take a boat trip out into the Forth to view the seabird colonies on the Isle of May.

There are plenty of attractions and activities locally and, further afield, Perth, Edinburgh, the Highlands, Loch Lomond etc. are all easily accessible in a day trip.

Gas central heating, bed linen and towels are included!included. Up to two well behaved pets are welcome by arrangement. Sorry, smoking is not allowed within the property.
