Eagles Nest,
Mountbenger,
Yarrow Valley
Sleeps 4 – Pet friendly
South facing and set in its own half-acre garden (furniture and BBQ) it stands at the end of a track easily negotiated with care, except in extreme wintry weather conditions, when a 4x4 is advisable) a half mile from the B709 which links Innerleithen (7 miles) to St Mary's Loch (5 miles) and is only miles from the flourishing small town of Peebles (Hydro, shops, restaurants etc) World Class mountain biking is available at Innerleithen and Glentress, less than 10 miles away.
This is a largely undiscovered area - perfect for walking, biking, angling, sailing, anyone wanting to get away from it all - or for exploring by car since quiet roads take you easily through this spectacular hill country to all the small Border towns and many places of interest. Traquair House, the oldest inhabited house in Scotland; Cashmere and woollen mills, The Border Abbeys, and Sir Walter Scott's 'Abbotsford' are all within easy visiting distance and Sir Walter himself was almost 'a regular' at The Gordon Arms Hotel/Pub about one mile from the cottage door. Edinburgh is a one hour drive, and Glasgow an hour and a half drive.
