Duncaan Cottage is a delightful traditional cottage situated only a mile from the sea in the quiet little crofting community of Duirinish and only 2 miles from the charming village of Plockton ( the scenic location of Hamish McBeth) with its shops, pubs, palm trees and sailing facilities.

Part of a small group of Highland cottages beside which flows the Allt Duirinish burn where Highland cows often come to drink, Duncaan stands just in front of low hills (perfect walking terrain) and enjoys panoramic views and superb sunsets over Raasay and the Cuillin Hills of Skye.

This area is part of the magnificent north-west Scottish coastline bounded on the north by the Torridon mountains and on the south by Loch Alsh. The cottage is located only 4 miles north of Kyle of Lochalsh (more shops, hotels, and the Skye bridge) on a non-through road and from here you can enjoy walking, sailing, seal-watching as well as touring to different beauty spots such as Eilean Donan Castle, Applecrss, Ullapool and the Inverewe gardens.

Heating is by wood-burning stove and electricity (£10 included) .Bed-linen and towels are included. One small pet is welcome under strict control. Smoking is not allowed within the house.

Downstairs:

• Sitting-room with wood-burning stove, TV/VCR and stero/CD player.
• Kitchen/dining room with electric-cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing-machine, etc.
• Bathroom with bath, shower, basin and WC.

Upstairs (by 12 steepish stairs):

• Double bed-room
