Callwood Smiddy,
near Aberfeldy,
Perthshire.
Sleeps 4
Callwood Smiddy is in the countryside 4 miles west of Aberfeldy (shops/hotels/restaurants) in Perthshire - ideally placed for exploring all of central Scotland and the mid-west coast, for golf and walking on the surrounding hills, and for watersports and fishing on lovely Loch Tay 2 miles away. The busy tourist towns of Pitlochry and Perth are 30-minutes and 45 minutes respectively. There is a pub and restaurant in the village of Kenmore within 2 miles.
Callwood Smiddy is a truly delightful cottage, charmingly designed within the original 3ft-thick stone walls of a blacksmith's forge dating back 200 years, and one tenant told us that were it her house, she didn't think she could ever bear to let it.... she would love it too much ! This will surely be most people's opinion as a lot of time, thought, and work has been invested in its conversion and refurbishment, with comfort and convenience internally matching the very pretty views externally.
It is double-glazed, detached and self-contained, with its own access and parking, and has a private patio (with furniture and barbecue) that faces south over the garden to the woods and hills of Breadalbane on the far side of Loch Tay.
Heating is by wood burning stove (logs
included) and electricity (£15
included). Bed-linen and towels are
included. We regret neither children under 5, nor pets, are allowed; and smoking is not permitted within the house.
