Brackenbrae
Acharacle
Argyll
Sleeping 6
Brackenbrae is a large, modern house standing on the shore of Loch Shiel right in the middle of outstanding West Highland countryside and with superb views over the loch and hills around it. It is set in its own informal garden with plenty room for parking, on the edge of the village of Acharacle (hotel, shops) at the beginning of the Ardnamurchan peninsula, which is the most westerly point of the UK mainland. You will find delightful, peaceful sandy beaches a few minutes drive away.
Inside, the house is welcoming and well-appointed with all accommodation on the one floor. The comfortably furnished sitting room has a gas fire. There are three bedrooms - one double bedroom, two twin-bedded rooms (one with en suite shower) as well as the main bathroom. The kitchen is well equipped and there is also a utility room.
This beautiful, peaceful setting is perfect for a relaxing holiday. However, you can drive to Fort William (40m, all facilities) and Ben Nevis while going 40 miles in the opposite direction will take you to the little fishing harbour at Mallaig and to Morar's famous silver sands and golf course. At the other side of Loch Shiel lies Glenfinnan, well-known historically as it was here that Bonnie Prince Charlie raised his standard for the Jacobite rebellion of 1745.
Electricity, heating by gas-CH, bed-linen and towels are
included. Up to two well-behaved pets are welcome.
