Two and a half miles from the village of Acharacle (shops, hotels, café) on the Ardnamurchan peninsula, follow a private moorland track to find at its end Allt Beithe Cottage standing between heather hills to the rear and beautiful open views to the front. The cottage is built of traditional stone and has been beautifully refurbished by its owners to create a comfortable and snug home sure to delight holidaymakers.

The extensive grass garden (a haven for wild life) is enclosed and safe for children to play in although care should be taken with young children as there is a small pond.

Here you can forget the outside world and relax. There are sands at Kentra Bay about a mile away and also a glorious beach at Sanna Bay which has superb views across to the islands of Muck and Eigg. At the very tip of the peninsula you can visit the lighthouse which stands on the most westerly point in Britain while from Kilchoan the ferry sails to Tobermory on Mull. Going north towards Mallaig (36m, all facilities) you pass the famous silver sands of Morar and a fine 18 hole golf course at Traigh. The lovely island of Skye is readily accessible for a delightful day trip by taking the 20 minute ferry from Mallaig. For those seeking the real 'wild west', remote and untouched Knoydart lies not far from Mallaig.

Cycles etc. may be stored in a small shed at the back of the cottage.

Heating is by oil fired central heating (included) and solid fuel stoves (starter pack of fuel included). £10 of electricity is included. A travel cot, high chair and an extra pull-out bed are available by arrangement. Please note that bed linen and towels are not available at this cottage. One pet is welcome by arrangement. Sorry, no smoking within the cottage.
